No doubt, 2020 will go down as one of the most challenging years in recent memory. But Goswick Golf Links is, among other things, resilient.
After all, the club didn’t let a little thing like a global pandemic prevent it from hosting a hotly contested members’ competition season, albeit a bit shorter than the norm.
On Saturday, the club invited all members (gents, ladies and juniors) to participate in a Texas Scramble as a tip of the hat to all of those who gave it their all. And special honours were reserved for those members who emerged victorious throughout the year. Gents’ winners were presented with a whisky glass (apart from the winter competition winners who received a hip flask) and the ladies’ winners received a gin and tonic glass. Each is engraved with the club logo.In addition, each of the gents’ monthly medal winners received an engraved scorecard plaque detailing their winning score.
The juniors winners also received individual prizes. It was especially gratifying to see so many participate in this year’s juniors comps. Long may it continue.Congratulations to all of the winners!
