Daniel Bullen won an unprecedented fifth straight club championship at Goswick Golf Links today, edging out Alan Potts by a single shot. Bullen had rounds of 71 and 72 for a 1-under-par total of 143, while Potts recorded a 69 and 75 for an even-par 144.
David Hindson claimed the B Category title, winning a playoff with Ryan McCulloch. Both players finished the two rounds with matching gross scores of 165. C Category went to John Richardson, who followed up his opening 92 with an 85 to best Garry Leslie who shot 88-94-182.
On the ladies side of the competition, Lynn Bruce (89-89-178) narrowly bested Dawn Tomlinson (85-94-179) for the gross title. Tomlinson, though, was the net champion, followed by Liz Mclarty-Jones.
Congrats to all who braved the cool and damp conditions on Saturday and the brisk breezes on Sunday to record some fine scores. It was a great weekend for Goswick.
