Sian Evans of Rochester & Cobham Golf Club sunk a long birdie putt on the 4th playoff hole to edge out Tracey Boyes of Meon Valley Golf & Country Club and claim the Women's Professional Golf Association (PGA) Championship at Goswick Golf Links today.
The pair finished the 36-hole competition with matching 2-over-par totals of 146. However, the overall winner and the assistant pro champion was Hazel MacGarvie who dominated play with back-to-back rounds of 3-under-par 69 for a total of 138.
This is the second consecutive year that Goswick has hosted this prestigious event. The James Braid-designed masterpiece earned high praise from the event organisers as well as the contestants who traveled to North Northumberland from throughout the UK.
