Here’s the fourth in a series of posts about what our members are doing to compensate for the lack of golf during the COVID-19 mandated lockdown.
What is your name? Les Wallace
Where do you live? St Boswells in the Scottish Borders
When did you become a member at Goswick? I think I’ve been a country member since 1990, originally joining as a winter member. It’s been so long now that I’m not entirely sure!
What’s the one thing you miss the most about it during the shutdown? I miss playing on a great golf course in the company of good friends. When I was younger, competition was all important. Nowadays, decent golf and decent company keeps me happy — especially at Goswick.
What’s one thing you are doing to try to fill the void? Firstly, stay healthy by avoiding this awful virus. Next priority is to walk a lot and eat sensibly. And finally, limit the alcohol. I am also trying to keep in touch with everyone to make sure we are keeping safe, sane and well!
