On the evening of Monday the 23rd of March, Prime Minister Boris Johnson implemented a national three-week lockdown in an attempt to stem the spread of COVID-19. Goswick Golf Links is, of course, complying with this policy.
In response, here is the third in a series of posts about what our members are doing to compensate. It is offered by the Goswick seniors captain.
What is your name? Ken Minshull
Where do you live? Bowsden (close enough to cycle or run down to Goswick if necessary)
When did you become a member at Goswick? 2011. I’d be surprised if I was the only member who’s benefitted from the Armed Forces half-price offer, as I joined just as I finished the last two years of my military career.
What’s the one thing you miss the most about it during the shutdown? The craic/sociability. Oh, and taking money from Dave Wilkinson. But that’s two things.
What’s one thing you are doing to try to fill the void? Doing some long overdue maintenance on the house and in the garden — as directed by my wife Bobbie, of course!
