The gloomy weather didn’t exactly align with the calendar. But that didn’t stop the 2023 golf season from getting off to a roaring start at Goswick Golf Club on the 1st of April.

All of us are feeling the pinch of the cost-of-living increase. But there’s no doubt that the impact has been especially pronounced on charitable organisations as their costs have gone up and, all too often, their donations have gone down.

The recipients of Goswick Golf Link’s first-ever community grant programme gathered at the club recently to share how they will use the funds to help make a difference in Berwick-upon-Tweed and the surrounding area.

Slowly but surely, the days are lengthening — even if the temps aren’t always rising. And that means a new golf season, and the opportunity for a fresh start, will follow.

In its ongoing commitment to continually raising the standard of its James Braid-designed links, Goswick is looking to augment its greenkeeping staff with a trainee mechanic/greenkeeper.

Goswick Golf Links has created a new fund that will be awarded to charitable organisations that operate within Berwick Upon Tweed in the form of grants up to £500 each.
