The R&A returned to Goswick Links on Monday to stage regional qualifying for The Open Championship after a three-year COVID-induced hiatus. And by all accounts it was worth the wait.

More than 130 professionals and top amateurs will take on the challenge of Goswick Golf Links on Monday in hopes of advancing to finals qualifying for the 150th Open Championship to be played on the Old Course in St Andrews in July.

More than 20 women and girls gathered at Goswick on Sunday to participate in a welcoming and fun introduction to golf.

Sandra McGonigle and Paul Holmes, who served as Ladies Captain and Club Captain of Goswick Links in 2021, recently handed over a big check (in more ways than one) to the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

Goswick hosted its first-ever New Members Day. Actually, it held two such events, on Saturday and Wednesday.
