Building on the success of its first-ever Golf Taster Event for Girls, Goswick Links has stepped up to serve as a provider for Girls Golf Rocks, a programme jointly developed and promoted by England Golf and the Golf Foundation.

Goswick got a glimpse of its future on Saturday when 17 girls between the ages of 5 and 14 gathered on the practice field for the club’s first-ever Golf Taster Event for Girls.

Paul Terras is married to his wife, Shona, not his job as head professional at Goswick Golf Links. But, often, the distinction between the two can be a wee bit blurry.

When it comes to course maintenance, Goswick Golf Links has long been blessed with a steady and experienced hand.

Twenty years after he joined Goswick Golf Links as a member, Robert Cook was named the new chairman of its board. That raises some questions, such as: Why now? What experience and perspective does he bring to the role? And what is his vision for the club moving forward?

In the wake of the Prime Minister’s announcement Monday evening and consistent with England Golf’s guidance, Goswick is currently closed. This applies to all aspects of the club, including the clubhouse and all practice facilities.

Goswick might be in lockdown mode when it comes to play on the James Braid-designed links. But there’s still plenty of activity amid the dunes to maintain and improve the course. Case in point: The creation of a new tee on the 17th hole.
